Computer Science Opportunity Fair
On March 29, 19 students attended a computer science opportunity fair at the Armory Track, in Washington Heights. They explored new technology from 65 companies, including Ebay, Microsoft, Google, and Facebook. Microsoft's Intelligent Kiosk captured students' attention by guessing their age and the emotion of their facial expression. Facebook gave students a chance to experience virtual reality. Pace University demoed wearable electronics and a machine simulating how the British broke the German Enigma code during WWII. IBM taught students about quantum computing. STEM's eggbot let students decorate plastic eggs. Williamsburg Preparatory High School will offer more computer science class opportunities to our students so they will be ready in this digital age.
